Iran survived America's naval blockade. Then its best customer walked away. When the US lifted its blockade of Kharg Island under a 60-day truce, Iran rushed roughly 70 MILLION barrels of oil — worth $5-6 BILLION — onto 52 tankers. Twenty of them raced to waters off Malaysia for ship-to-ship transfers bound for China. But China's independent refiners had already moved on — buying millions of barrels of cheaper crude from Iraq, the UAE and Qatar instead. Now full Iranian tankers are piling up off China's coast with no buyers, and the truce window closes August 16.
